THE SCHIEVER GROUP INAUGURATES THE COUNTRY’S FIRST INTERSPORT

Building on our successful international experiences, the Schiever Group, alongside INTERSPORT France, is taking a new step forward in August 2026 with the opening of the very first INTERSPORT store in Portugal, located in Felgueiras, northeast of Porto.

This store marks Portugal’s entry into the INTERSPORT International network, already present in 40 countries worldwide. It illustrates the French cooperative model’s ability to support the development of new markets while adapting to local specificities and consumer expectations.

As a member of the INTERSPORT France cooperative, we have deployed a modern and welcoming concept spanning 1,800 m². True to the brand’s commitment to making sports equipment accessible to all, the offering was designed to meet local expectations: particularly well-stocked aisles for football and futsal, a product range suited to all budgets, and an attractive, dynamic loyalty program.

Organized into 3 distinct sections, the store also features comprehensive universes:

Performance: Football, Futsal, Running, Swimming, Tennis, Padel, and many other sports.
Well-being, Fitness & Outdoor: Fitness-Training, Yoga, Hiking, Camping, and a dedicated Cycling area.
Fashion & Lifestyle: A complete range of clothing and footwear, featuring top international brands.

Fully aligned with the development strategy of the Schiever Group and the INTERSPORT Cooperative, this brand-new Portuguese store is built first and foremost on strong local integration. In addition to a team of 22 employees recruited from the region, our goal is to sustainably anchor the brand within the local community.

As such, the store offers genuine local technical service hubs (cycling workshop, racket stringing area) and is developing specific offers to support the region’s clubs and associations.

Finally, mirroring our stores in France, the brand’s exacting standards are rigorously upheld. Our teams place guidance, personalized advice, and customer satisfaction at the heart of their daily priorities.
