Operating in Poland for over 20 years, Schiever supports the rapid transformation of the retail market by developing tailored store formats, strengthening proximity with consumers, and pursuing a committed CSR policy to promote more responsible retail.
Poland
A RAPIDLY EVOLVING RETAIL MARKET
With over 38 million inhabitants, Poland is the largest market in Central Europe. The retail sector has undergone rapid changes in recent years, marked by the rise of numerous shopping centers and shifts in consumer habits. After a period of hypermarket growth, Polish consumers, like those in France, are now turning towards smaller formats: convenience stores, discount chains, and specialty food shops.
In response to this trend, Schiever Poland adapts its offering to provide competitive solutions aligned with customer expectations. Our central services are shared between our two brands, bi1 and Auchan, while supply is ensured via the Auchan Retail International warehouse.

AUCHAN IN POLAND
In partnership with Auchan Retail International, we own and operate two Auchan hypermarkets and their shopping centers in Zielona Góra and Racibórz. Tailored to their local consumer bases, these Polish hypermarkets offer larger retail space than their French counterparts, meeting specific local market needs.
We develop fresh food counters and traditional departments in-store, as well as new services such as home delivery and collective catering. Thanks to this agile and innovative strategy, Schiever Poland supports the transformation of retail and strengthens its proximity to Polish consumers.

Our bi1 stores
A NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Since 2015, Schiever has been rolling out the bi1 brand in Poland in a hypermarket format. Our eight bi1 hypermarkets are committed to reassuring customers and promoting healthy, accessible food for all.
We emphasize fresh products and expand ranges tailored to consumers with food intolerances.
Through this approach, bi1 stands out for delivering a customer experience built on trust and transparency.
A vital role
A PROACTIVE CSR POLICY
Schiever Poland actively participates in the country’s largest national report on retail best practices.
In line with our values, we joined the national “Produkt Polski” campaign organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, supporting local production. This label identifies and promotes products made and sourced in Poland.
Committed to animal welfare, we were the first in 2017 to stop selling live carp in our hypermarkets.
Beyond its commercial activities, Schiever Poland invests in employee training and well-being. It encourages volunteering by enabling staff to engage with charitable organizations and recognized NGOs. Through these initiatives, Schiever Poland combines economic performance and social responsibility, staying true to its values of proximity, ethics, and innovation.
