DIY at Schiever
A STORY OF FRIENDSHIP

DIY at Schiever is above all a story of friendship, between a family of grocers from Avallon, the Schiever family, and a family of hardware store owners from Tonnerre, the Tailfer family. From this alliance came the opening, in 1978, of the Maximarché Tailfer Catena store in Tonnerre — the Group’s first supermarket to combine food and DIY products under one roof. This was followed by the creation of the Maxibrico brand in the late 1990s, in perfect complement to our food retail business.

Building on this experience and aware that strength lies in unity, we became a franchised partner of the ADEO group in 2007, integrating the Weldom and later Bricoman banners into our portfolio.
Our network of local stores, mainly located in rural areas of Eastern and Central France, offers a range of products and services often unavailable in these regions.

In 2014, the launch of Hôli further strengthened our presence in the DIY market, with a brand dedicated to the latest trends in interior design and paint.
